REMOTE LEARNING RESOURCES

Welcome to our Remote Learning Hub.  This space is designed to support students and parents in navigating the variety of digital tools we will use in our hybrid classrooms this year.  Please check back regularly for new resources.

 

Remote Learning Guidelines for Students

  • Find a quiet space to work each day.

  • Be prepared.  Have your supplies in your work area.

  • Be dressed appropriately for school.  Please eat breakfast before you log in.

  • Be on time.  School starts promptly at 8 am.

  • Know your schedule.  Keep a copy of your schedule in your work space.

  • Turn your camera on and use your headphones/earbuds.

  • Participate in class.  

    • Be an active listener.  

    • Raise your hand to share your ideas with your teacher.

    • Ask questions when you don’t understand.

    • Always let your teacher know when you need help.

How to Use Google Classroom for Parents  (Highly Recommended for All Parents)

This 10 minute video provides an overview of Google Classroom, including how students can view and turn in assignments and how they can see and respond to comments from their teachers.

Google Docs for Kids:  What Is It?

Google Docs for Kids:  Formatting

These brief videos provide a very basic explanation of Google Docs designed for younger students.  The formatting video shows students how to use the features on the tool bar to format text in a Doc.

 

Google Slides:  Getting Started

This 2 minute video shows the basic features needed to begin creating a Google Slides presentation.

 

Zoom Basics for Students

This 8 minute video show students how to join a Zoom meeting, mute your microphone, use your video, and leave a meeting.

 

Introduction to IXL for Students

Students in grades 5-8 will use IXL for math and language arts this year.  This video provides a brief overview and tips for navigating the site.

 

Introduction to Khan Academy for Students

Some students will use Khan Academy for math intruction and review.  This video provides a brief introduction to the site.
