This year, your child will study the Ancient World.  We become amateur anthropologists, beginning our exploration with prehistoric times as we handle Stone Age tools and recreate the cave art of the hunter gatherers.

Next stop is the first civilization of Mesopotamia, where we write on clay tablets in the world's first written language of cuneiform.  Then comes Egypt, and the chance to create jewelry, learn how mummies were made, and design a burial chamber fit for a Pharoah.

After stopping off in the fascinating civilizations of ancient India and China, we being the study of Greece and Rome.  We read mythology, which is a set of fascintating stories about the first super heroes, the gods and goddesses of Olympus. We explore the beginnings of modern democracy and see how our own government is based on that of ancient Greece.
